Survey on Subtitling Rates and Working Conditions of Subtitlers Translating from and to Mandarin

26 March 2013

Dear colleague,

I am working on a survey to gather information on the current state of the subtitling industry as well as on working conditions for subtitlers, with a focus on subtitlers whose working languages involve the Chinese language (both traditional and simplified). It is hoped that the results will provide insight into the conditions under which subtitlers work and – in the long term – help safeguard quality and ensure decent working conditions in the industry.

To complete the survey please go to:

(The above link provides access to the survey in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.)

The survey will be open until 15th April 2013.

I would truly appreciate it if you could answer the questionnaire and help circulate it.

Many thanks for your help and your time.
